Failures in communication can lead to serious, sometimes irreversible damage. Given the heavy weight and responsibility placed on healthcare teams, communication missteps can be incredibly costly.

Team burnout, the loss of great team members, high turnover, lost revenue, and wasted time dealing with unproductive interpersonal conflicts are just some of the consequences. The biggest consequence of all is that our patients—the very people we are meant to serve—suffer the most when there is turmoil within our teams.
